Frequently Asked Questions
What is mulberry silk?
Mulberry silk is produced by silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves — finer, stronger, and more uniform than wild silk. All Kausheyah pieces use 100% mulberry silk, not blends or synthetics.
Is this Silk Mark India certified?
Yes. Every Kausheyah piece carries the Silk Mark India certification — a Government of India quality standard that guarantees the fabric is 100% genuine silk. This distinguishes our products from uncertified silk sold on larger marketplaces.
What momme weight is Kausheyah silk?
23 momme — derived from our 100 GSM fabric weight (GSM ÷ 4.34 = momme). Most premium silk brands use 19–22 momme. The higher weight means better drape, more durability, and a richer feel through the day.
Is silk good for sensitive skin?
Yes. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and smooth against skin. It does not trap heat or moisture, making it gentle for sensitive skin and comfortable in the Indian climate — in both summer heat and air-conditioning.
How do I care for silk clothing?
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Do not wring or machine dry. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Store folded in a cool, dry place away from moisture.
